Lakai is in denial... plain and simple.
A few days ago I asked Ryan to pull the bins of Lakai's old clothes from out of the garage. He's such a champ and I didn't even have to ask twice. Now that's a good man right there. Well, Lakai and I decided to sort through the bins last night and this is what happened...
Those swim trunks are a size six months. He is in denial of how big he actually is. As soon as he saw the trucks I couldn't get his hands off them. He HAD to put them on. The funny thing is, my three year old did it... he got them on. It was a tight squeeze, but he did it. I could not convince him to take them off though and by the end of the night he decided maybe those small shorts weren't his brightest idea. He had red undie indentations on his scrawny little hips.
He was quite the helper though and I think he even got excited that if he has a baby brother, his little bro will get to wear some of his old clothes. It was nice spending that time talking to him and explaining that he used to be itty bitty. We held up some of his old clothes to him (like the outfit we planned on taking him home in until he pooed in it) and my heart melted. I still can't believe how big Lakai has gotten, or that in a few short months we will have another itty bitty.
We find out Friday whether Lakai will have a little sister or little brother and the anticipation is just about killing me. I've have two dreams about the sex. In one we were having a boy and in the other we were having a girl. Basically I still have not an inkling as to what we are having, although Ryan is royally convinced he'll have a princess (I'm not so sure about that).
So for now, we will keep waiting. Be looking here on Friday for the official word :)

wedding season and a bump.
7.30.2012
Ryan and I had the privileged of going to the Shipp Wedding this weekend. Shaina and Spencer are a match made in heaven and both looked stunning on their big day.
With my bump quickly growing (well it is slowly growing, but I feel it is popping quite quickly), I went on the search for the perfect outfit to wear. I tried on my many dresses and most didn't fit over "the bump." :) So clothing stores began calling my name. I went to the all amazing Nordstrom and found this pink number. Not only will it grow with me, but it is light and airy, a pregnant women's dream! I paired it with a plain white tank and gold/turquoise necklace.
My mom snapped this at the wedding and it has quickly become one of my favorite photos of Ry and I.
Stay tuned for our family/engagement pictures (we should be getting them tomorrow or Wednesday) and the GENDER ANNOUNCEMENT! We go in on August 17th for our ultrasound! I can hardly contain my excitement.

It has taken everything in me to keep this contained. I'm a talker, so containing anything can be difficult. Well....
The day after our seven year anniversary, Ryan and I decided to begin trying for another little munchkin. The following Wednesday, March 14, 2012, I had my IUD (I should say my beloved IUD, because I loved it so much and felt very attached) taken out. And so it began....
I starting taking pregnancy tests about two weeks later... Overkill, I know. After three weeks we were beginning to think I'd NEVER get pregnant. I will state now that we do acknowledge how crazy we are for thinking this was even the slightest bit logical.
Well, On April 15, 2012, Mr. Ryan asked this lucky lady to marry him! Whoop, Whoop! Now that I was planning a wedding I thought, "Momma don't want to be looking like a whale at the wedding." So I discussed with Ryan that if I wasn't pregnant within the next two months, then I thought we should wait until after the wedding... A whole year and a half since our wedding date is August 10, 2013 (this may change due to venue bookings).
Well, as the week went on I start feeling tired and my boobs throbbed with pain. I would get our of bed and feel like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I KNEW this could only mean one thing... I HAD to be pregnant. I contemplated for the next hour, "Should I take a test this morning, or wait it out? Am I psyching myself out? What if I take it now and jinx it?" Well, being the anxiously excited person I am, I deciding to hop right out of bed and send a glorious yellow stream right on that pregnancy pee stick. I set the test down on the counter, closed my eyes and counted to... screw it, I'm lying. I didn't peel my eyes off that test.
And sure enough...
WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BABY! Yay!
As of right now, I'm due late December and we can hardly wait to welcome this new bundle of joy into our hearts and home!
