don't drop the bucket.

1.19.2012

Reluctantly I have created a Bucket List. I have the most adorable friend Haley (go to her blog, it is sooo cute and she has one handsome little boy!) who inspired this with a "30 by 30" she wrote a few months ago. Some of these items I'm all little unsure of, but they are all things I'd love to experience in my lifetime.

1. GO TO NURSING SCHOOL!
2. Take Lakai snorkeling in Hawaii.
3. Go on a road trip to and through the Red Woods.
4. Learn calligraphy.
5. Buy a home on at least a half acre.
6. Convince my dad to build either a swing set or a tree house for Lakai.
7. Take Lakai to LEGO Land.
8. Take a photography class.
9. Take a pottery class.
10. Buy a piano and take lessons. My parents had a piano, gifted to them from my grandparents, and because none of us kids wanted to play piano, they sold it. How I wish we still had that piano. Breaks my heart a little.
11. Go on a trip to Italy.
12. Go on a girls trip to somewhere tropical.
13. Start a weekly girls night... Winesday!
14. Attempt to write a children's book. This is for my seventh grade teacher, Mrs. Swanack.
15. Don't cut my hair for a year and donate it to Locks for Love.
16. Get married.
17. Have a couple more babies ;)
18. Build a home perfect for Lakai and I, or completely remodel one.
19. Kayak at night in the phosphorous waters of Puerto Rico.
20. Save enough money to send Lakai to college debt free.
21. Find a church Lakai and I love.
22. Go on a mission trip to another country.
23. Learn to sew.
24. Spend a week in Seattle, exploring the city... visit that gum wall I see in so many photos.
25. Learn another language... preferably Italian or French... maybe both!
26. Take a cooking class.
27. Begin a new tradition of having the family over for dinner once a week.
28. Find a way to re-pay my parents for all the wonderful things they have provided and done for me... this one may be tricky, because nothing will ever be enough to re-pay them. I have wonderful parents.
29. Collect every Disney movie EVER made.
30. Act in a community play.
31. Go on a Disney cruise... I'm almost 23 and still would probably be more excited about this than Lakai.
32. Refinish my Great-Great Grandma's desk.
33. Go skydiving... I want all my children out of the house and through college before I do this one.
34. Volunteer as a mentor for Vida's Ark.
35. Find a local food bank for Lakai and I to volunteer at regularly. My mom did this for my brother and I when we lived in Spokane and it was a truly humbling experience.
36. Visit a beach in North Carolina... you know, like the one's you read about in Nicholas Sparks books.
37. Learn how to can food.
38. Begin a tradition of spending a week up at my grandparents, in Tonasket, WA. I made many memories in the summers as a youngin' and I think Lakai would too.
39. Sponsor a family over Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'd love to give gifts to fulfill someone else's needs over the holidays because we've been so fortunate.
40. Buy a camera with video capabilities.
41. Learn how to make family videos with the above^ camera.
42. If I can afford, I'd love to adopt from another country.
43. Go deep sea fishing with my dad.
44. Learn how to bake and decorate cakes and cupcakes.
45. Spend a week up at Schweitzer, skiing and sledding, with Lakai.
46. Go to Spark with my mom.
47. Live in another state.
48. Travel to the eastern part of the United States and learn about the history of the U.S.

I'm sure as time goes on I will think of many more bucket list items, but this is a start.
